Plega (pronounced “Play-ga”).
Plega – Old English plega (West Saxon), “quick motion; recreation, exercise, any brisk activity”. From or related to Old English plegan, “to play; to move about sportively, frolic, dance; to divert or amuse oneself”.
Fit – in good physical condition; in good health.
The name Plega Fit conveys the message that exercise should be playful and fun and the importance of being in good physical condition. The “play button” logo goes in line with this playful message and also harks back to Joe’s experience as a DJ. This evolution from DJ to runner (and now fitness professional and running coach) is expressed in the name of the blog, “DJ2runner”.
We put the “personal” into personal training. PT sessions are bespoke designed with the client’s goals in mind. We explore the client’s exercise likes & dislikes, past & present activity levels, current lifestyle & daily routine in order to build suitable sessions to meet their goals and needs. Following an initial 1-hour consultation, sessions are delivered from our studio in a private and relaxing environment.

Joe Watts has been qualified as a Level 3 Personal Trainer since 2017 and is also qualified in indoor cycling, exercise referral, group outdoor instruction & circuit training. He is a member of the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs) – an independent, public register which recognises the qualifications and expertise of health-enhancing exercise instructors in the UK.
As well as a running coach and personal trainer, Joe is also a member of Lingfield Running Club for whom he competes on the road, trail and cross country over distances from the mile to the marathon.
